NYTheatre.com wrote of his play Coat Check Casanova, which was produced at the Living Theatre, "Carrillo is most successful in his playwriting in [the] sections which really reveal what it means to be in one of America's invisible occupations—a service worker at the lowest rung of the hierarchy, taken for granted and too often taken advantage of."
